Dear Sir:-
Your letter of the 6th inst., to Mr Cook, assistant manager, has been referred to me.
Mr Compagnon, our present Chef, has asked to be relieved at a time that will be most convenient to us. I am inclined to give you a trial, but wish to do it at a time that will not create any more feeling than necessary on Mr Compagnon's part. Can I engage you to come here, say April 1st, or earlier on short notice, and, if so, on what terms?
