Tascher wears a pith helmet and rifle, and shoulders camping gear. He may be packed for traveling to the Paramount Studios' set of "Beau Geste" to make a parody of the story. The cast and crew had to carry in all their equipment through sand dunes to make the film and camp out on the set. This venue may be San Diego State College, where he was a student and member of Sigma Lambda.
