Desert oasis set of "Beau Geste" parody, 1939
Enter a free text date.
This apparent oasis was part of the abandoned Paramount Studios' Fort Zinderneuf set where members of Sigma Lambda fraternity and other San Diegans filmed a parody of "Beau Geste." Many of the "palm trees" had concrete trunks, standing a few yards to the south of the "fort," or just beyond the front gate. The exact location is an archeological dig and may not be disclosed.
