Bergman sends a copy of a press release about the release from the Navy of Joseph Suozzo, "winner of the Silver Star medal." It gives a short biography of Suozzo starting with his graduation from San Diego State College and entry into the Navy in January 1942. The medal was "for the part he played in the Normandie invasion." His tank landing craft was badly damaged, but he managed to land his cargo, a Sherman tank.
