The Music Building, completed in November 1969, is the Modern design of San Diego resident and architect Frank Lewis Hope, Sr. (1901-1994). Hope also designed the San Diego State University Science Building, the Timken Museum of Art, and San Diego Mesa College among other San Diego buildings. Behind the Music Building is the Theatre Arts Building (also called Dramatic Arts), and in the deep background are Hardy Tower and Hepner Hall at the end of The Campanile Walkway stretching north from the foreground.
