Clemmer, Leslie Curtis
Clemmer does not "know whether to call" what he is on "a ship or a floating city." He is on the aircraft carrier United States Ship Intrepid, a ship nearly 900 feet long with a crew of almost 3,500 people. A list of the amenities on the ship follows, including the "latest pictures [movies] shown" every night. He is in the communications department but has received no mail in the month he has been there.
