Church believes he is on a station that will last as long as the war, a "net tender" that lays and tends torpedo nets, moorings, and buoys "stationed in the South Pacific." They are called "ugly ducklings" from the "horns on the bow." He sends regards to the Eps (Epsilon Eta fraternity) and asks to be remembered to Charles Leonard and Clarence Osborn.
