Chandler, John A.
Chandler says censorship of the Bougainville Campaign was lifted, so he can reveal that it was his outfit that "hit the Empress Augusta Bay area." They "were the first ones in" to "hit the beach early on the morning of November 1st." The censor scissors out the next sentence. Although he praises the coordination of the Navy, Air Force and "other units," he gives "special credit" to the "Seabees." Again on pages 3 and four there are more cuts.
