Dyer, Carlos
Located on the stage fire screen of the auditorium. The screen is not visible unless lowered into place. The artwork depicts typical scenes of the area and a high school. The figures on the right have been involved in a fight over a girl. On the left students hold books, musical instruments, geometry measurement tools and other objects used in school work. The back ground figures play on the beach and the powerlines, arches and the jet are still part of the landscape of the Long Beach area. The mural is unfinished as seen in the blank canvas and artist pallet, also the figures in caps and gowns moving away from the viewer have no feet.
