Handwritten on the back of the print: "Geunther Herbig - Florence Goss - 'Musically Speaking' 1983 [sic]." Herbig is a German conductor who has served symphony orchestras in Germany, the United States, and Taiwan. He performed as the guest conductor of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in 1983. Goss formed the women's committee of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra in 1949 and served as the chairman of the Board of Directors from 1953-56, and in 1959. She developed the "Musically Speaking" lecture program, and was designated a lifetime member of the board for her years of service.
