Oliver served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra and as the president of the Symphony Auxiliary Council in the 1980s. Goss formed the women's committee of the symphony in 1949 and served as the chairman of the Board of Directors from 1953-56, and in 1959. She developed the "Musically Speaking" lecture program, and was designated a lifetime member of the board for her years of service.
