Wilkins is an American conductor who has served orchestras throughout the United States and was appointed principal conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in 2014. He performed as the guest conductor of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra on January 16th and 17th, 1993, at a memorial concert for Martin Luther King Jr. He remains a guest artist of the symphony as of 2017.
