Citizens Interracial Committee
Moderator: Waymon, Carrol
One of CIC's primary activities was to hold biweekly meetings called "community dialogues" to discuss broad issues such as racism, police sensitivity, education, and employment discrimination within the city of San Diego.

The meetings were moderated by CIC Executive Director Carroll Waymon, and his voice is often the first one heard in the audio recordings of the meetings.

The discussion included racial stereotypes, an advertisement in Life Magazine of January 24, 1969, call for an interim committee (same as "Communications Task Force" later in the meeting?), a letter from an advertising agency, and an editorial on Channel 8. This recording has very poor sound quality. Although the tape is the minutes of the meeting, a summary is handwritten on 8 sheets of stenographic notebook paper, including some Gregg shorthand. It consists of tape-recorder-counter numbers on the left (001-624), names of speakers next to the numbers, and other comments after or below the speakers' names.
