This interview with Vietnam veteran Glen Cardin took place "at the math building on the San Diego State University campus." He was in the Air Force in Vietnam for 12 months from 1968-1969, 12 months and 1 day by his account. He was 19, married, and had a baby. He discusses his first impressions of the war, his struggles to make money for his family, his living conditions; military justice and prisons; substance abuse, especially alcohol use. He was an Air Force crew chief trained as a mechanic.
