Greene joined the United States Navy in 1917 and first came to San Diego in 1921. He discusses life in the Navy, San Diego during the Great Depression, the cost of living, Third Street whorehouses, training, and Navy hierarchy, along with other subjects. This oral history was conducted in the Mesa College Library and was digitized by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP).
