This "chrome" process picture postcard shows the swimming-pool area of Mission Valley Inn on U. S. Highway 80. This highway was decommissioned from about 1964 in favor of Interstate 8, which was completed in the San Diego area around 1965. Highway 101, to which this postcard also makes reference ("2 miles east of Highway 101") was also decommissioned south of Highway 60 around 1966. The motel at this spot in 2013 is just off Interstate 8 on Hotel Circle South (exit Hotel Circle) and is called the Mission Valley Resort.
