The Butler Apartments, San Diego, California, US
Designed in 1913 by William Sterling Hebbard (1863-1930), the San Diego architect, this buildikng was demolished by 1987. It was also known as the Hotel Butler, and there is a photograph of the hotel looking exactly like this, but from a slightly different angle and lacking the balcony shrubs and the plants on the overhang, in the collection of the San Diego History Center, dated 1915 (#4202).
