On the back of this coloor picture postcard is written "1952," presumably the year of its manufacture or acquisition. In the message portion of the card, the reader is reminded by a printed statement that Coronado is not a true island but is connected to the mainland by the "Silver Strand" beach. (Silver Strand Boulevard, Highway 75, is continued from the beach onto the island as Orange Avenue.) This view of Coronado Island is of Orange Avenue, including the Hotel Biltmore.
