The publisher of this picture postcard (hand colored and labeled) was active from 1914-1934, limiting the date range of this item. It shows a large coastal area encompassing all of San Diego and La Jolla, San Diego and Mission Bays, eastward past the Cleveland National Forest and Morena Dam, and south to one mile north of the Mexican border. There are inset circles and labels naming particular spots, and the legend states that the card depicts an "Aero-view of San Diego District showing Army, Navy and Aviation Bases." "This view," it continues, "represents 25 miles from left to right in foreground." Ream Field, labeled on the right-hand edge just below the vertical center, was named in 1918, and the San Diego and Arizona Railway was not completed until 1919, but it was sold in 1932 to Southern Pacific, which changed the name to the
San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway, thus confining the dates of this card's production.
