The Lily Pond and entrance to Botanical Gardens during the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935. This building, designed by the architectural firm of Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924), and Laguna de las Flores lagoon (also Reflecting Pool or Laguna de Espejo, or Lily Pond) were built for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. The roof of the Botanical Garden Building is redwood lath, open to the weather, so it is sometimes called the "Lath House." Both expositions were held in San Diego's Balboa Park.
