This nighttime view was apparently captured at the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935 held in San Diego's Balboa Park. The Callifornia Tower and dome of the California Building just to its right were designed by Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924) and constructed for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915. The California Building subsequently became the Museum of Man. On the right is the tower of the Palace of Photography, formerly known as the Science and Education Building and the Medical Arts Building, and then the Veterans of Foreign Wars Building (Building No. 4) before it was razed in the 1960s. hese buildings are reflected in the Lagoon also constructed for the 1915 Exposition in front of the Botanical Building. It has also been known as the Lily Pond, Laguna de las Flores, Laguna de Espejo, or Reflecting Pool.
