[Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois]
The Electricity and Varied Industries Building (known as the Palace of Electricity and Varied Industries during the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935) underwent a name change in 1936 to the Palace of General Exhibits and again in 1948 to the Balboa Park Gymnasium. The mural is no longer on the facade, and it serves in 2013 as a San Diego Municipal Gymnasium in San Diego's Balboa Park. During the 1935 exposition an interior exhibit is said to have included a "House of Magic" featuring radio and light waves and talking appliances. In the foreground are the Firestone Singing Fountains, later a parking lot. The Teich number in the lower left white border is 5A-H1152, from which the date was derived. The publisher's number 4428 is in the upper left corner. This is a linen card.
