Sohmer, Theo, Los Angeles, California
Lookout Mountain Drive, a winding road from Sunset Plaza on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, once led to an inn at the top, but that burned down in the 1910s. One of the real estate partners developing the property, Charles Spencer Mann, built the first trackless trolleys in 1910 or 1913 to run from a Sunset Boulevard streetcar stop to the bottom of Lookout Mountain Avenue where the Laurel Tavern (owned by Mann) served lunch. This is probably a collotype rather than a Real Photo Post Card.
