E. C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The mansion on the 56-acre estate purchased by Douglas Fairbanks in 1919 for his bride Mary Pickford is pictured here from the gates of the drive. It was designed by architect Wallace Neff (1895-1982). The mansion's name "Pickfair" was coined by newspaper staff from the last names of these two famous silent-film movie stars, who later split up. The home was demolished around 1990.
