"Natural color" post card showing the fountain in the courtyard of the House of Hospitality during the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935 held in San Diego's Balboa Park. This building was designed by Carleton M. Winslow (1910-1946) for the Panama-California International Exposition of 1915 as the Foreign Arts or Foreign Liberal Arts Building. It was redesigned by Richard Requa (1881-1941) for the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935, when the second floor seen in this view was added. Finally, it was demolished and rebuilt in the same Spanish-Renaissance style in 1997 and houses the Balboa Park Visitors Center, The El Prado restaurant, the Balboa Park Gift Shop, and the San Diego Police Department storefront. Seen in the center is the "Woman of Tehuantepec" (La Tehuana) statue by Donal Hord (1902-1966), also added in 1935, at the center of the fountain.
