The viewer is looking northwest into Avalon on the left and Avalon Bay with ships off toward the right. A ferry steamship is docked at the Steamer Pier. The Green Pleasure Pier is visible toward the bottom, and toward the horizon just right of center is the Catalina Casino with the red roof, jutting out from the mainland into the Pacific. The photographer's number is GW 440, and the publisher's number 55898-B.
