This hand-colored picture postcard shows a stagecoach on a downhill run on the stage road between Avalon and the isthmus of Santa Catalina Island. This card has a divided back, indicating that it was manufactured after postal regulations were changed in 1907, allowing backs to have a message portion. A card from the same run for sale was postmarked 1909. This card, made in Germany, has damage along the left bottom edge. Stagecoaches were used until 1914, when the Greeley Stage Company switched to automobiles.
