The golf course on Catalina Island has been located up Avalon Canyon Road behind the town since it was built in 1892. It was designed as a three-hole course and increased to nine in the early 1900s. The number on the back of the card is R-55109, which, according to the guide maintained by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, translates to 1915. Avalon Canyon surrounds the course.
