[Curt Teich & Co., Inc., Chicago, Illinois]
The homes of Hollywood movie stars have traditionally been the subjects of postcards. In this case the actor was Canadian Norma Shearer (1902-1983), known in 1934 for her roles as a "free soul," including a leading role in a movie by that name. At this time Shearer was married to producer Irving Thalberg, so this may have been his home as well. Although there is no attribution, there is a number in the right lower corner, a typical place and style for a number belonging to publisher, printer and creator Curt Teich. According to the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, 4A-H2096 represents the year 1922. The publisher's number at the top of this card is 828.
