The homes of Hollywood movie stars have traditionally been the subjects of postcards. Many postcards were constructed like this one, with a photograph of the home and an inset of a publicity photograph of the actor. In this case the actor was Alice Faye (1915-1998), singer, comedian and wife of actor/musician Phil Harris. She may have shared this residence with Tony Martin, to whom she was married from 1937 to 1940. According to the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, the number in the right lower corner of this card, OB-H509, places its publication in 1940. The publisher's number at the top of this card is 846.
