Anaglyph 3D picture postcard of U. S. Naval Hospital in Balboa Park, San Diego, California
The San Diego Naval Hospital started construction in 1922 after a tent dispensary was established in 1914. More land was deeded to the Navy in subsequent years, and finally a new Naval Medical Center in Florida Canyon east of this complex was dedicated in 1988. Because this is an anaglyph (two-color) three-dimensional photograph, it looks fuzzy without 3D glasses. The number S. D. 89 appears in the upper right white margin.
