Plaza del Panama (then known as Plaza del Pacifico) during the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935. This was known as the Plaza de Panama during the Panama-California International Exposition of 1915. These expositions were held in San Diego's Balboa Park. The large structure is the Arco del Porvenor (Arch of the Future or Arco del Futuro), built for the 1935 Exposition. The Fine Arts Galley replaced the Sacramento Valley Building on the site shown here on the right (with the facade behind the white car), subsequently the San Diego Museum of Art.
