This picture postcard appears to be a hand-tinted version of PC-000-680, with just the very bottom of the photograph cut off. This is Broadway in San Diego, looking west from just west of Sixth Avenue, toward San Diego Bay. On the right, the tall building is the San Diego Trust & Savings Bank building, built in 1928 and eventually converted to the Courtyard Marriott Downtown San Diego. The building on the immediate right, looking like the one from which the photograph was taken, is the Torbati Building at 625 Broadway on the corner of Sixth Avenue, built by John D. Spreckels (1853-1926) in 1926 (renovated 2004). Streetcars and tracks can be seen. The type of EKC photo paperused in the what might be the original photograph was distributed from 1930 to 1950. Western Publishing & Novelty Co. began operations in 1932.
