This shows the west entrance to the Panama-Callifornia International Exposition of 1915-1916 from Cabrillo Bridge. The bridge, also known as Puente de Cabrillo, was built for the Panama-Callifornia International Exposition of 1915 carrying traffic on El Prado from Laurel Street into Balboa Park. Its designers were Frank Phillips Allen, Jr. (1881-1943), and Thomas B. Hunter, with construction and opening in 1914. The California State Building visible on the left was designed by Bertram Goodhue (1869-1924). It includes the Callifornia Tower and the California Building later known as the San Diego Museum of Man. The entrance arch on the right constitutes part of the California Quadrangle (on the National Register of Historical Places) that includes the California Tower and California Building. The Panama-California Exposition of 1915 was held in San Diego's Balboa Park to belebrate the completion of the Panama Canal.
