Avenue of Palaces in Balboa Park, San Diego, during the California Pacific Exposition of 1935
El Prado street in San Diego's Balboa Park with the California Tower in the background. Immediately to its right, the dome glimpsed through the trees, is the California Building, later San Diego Museum of Man. To its right is the Palace of Photography, previously the Science and Education Building, in 1936 the Palace of Medical Science, then American Legion Building, later demolished in the 1960s. During the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935, El Prado street was known as the "Avenue of Palaces" or "Avenida de Palacios."
