The removal of the south wing of the Foreign Arts Building permitted architect Richard Requa (1881-1941) to design The Casa del Rey Moro Gardens at the renamed House of Hospitality. Created for the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935, the Gardens can be seen beyond the terrace with umbrellas in the foreground. First known as the Casa del Rey Moro Restaurant, after the exposition, it was known as the Cafe del Rey Moro. The building was later demolished and reconstructed in 1993 to its 1935 appearance, used as the Balboa Park Visitors Center, and the building's restaurant named the El Prado.
