[Curt Teich & Co., Inc., Chicago, Illinois]
The town of Avalon can be seen arrayed along the beach, with the aquarium jutting into the bay toward the bottom. A steamship ferry is at the pier in about the center of the card, with the Green Pleasure Pier beyond it. Above the piers and steamship, on the hill to the southeast is the Holly Hill House, formerly known as Lookout Cot, built by Peter Gano in 1890. Above it on the top of the hill is the home built the year before by the Island's main owner, William Wrigley, Jr. The publisher's number in the upper left corner is C.I.8. Though unacknowledged, the number A-91780 next to the dividing line on the back belonged to printer, producer, creator Curt Teich and denote the year 1922, according to the guide maintained by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives.
