F. G. Barry, Esq.

Dear Sir: Mr Byrne arrived here very unexpectedly, yesterday, on a business trip. I advised him of the 20,000 books to be repacked, and he stated they would attend to it, and that if you have written his office it will all be arranged.

Rather like the letter of Cornell in re. pastry cook. Notice he closes his hotel on the 15th.

My wife will be more than pleased to receive the cider. However, let me recommend to you that you pack it in a half barrel, and mark it anything but liquid, shipping via freight. If it comes as freight without being packed it will all be stolen, and by express will make it very expensive.. it may be that Byrne will permit it to come via baggage from Chicago, which should be better still.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock
