Lieut. O. W. Bartlett,
Mare Island Navy Yard,
San Francisco, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
In my letter of the 10th inst., I failed to say that it is the understanding that when the Winter season is well on and our large dining room is becoming filled, that it will be necessary for your child to take its meals in the Nurses' Dining Room. We would greatly prefer to have it take its meals there from the day you arrive, as the cost of attendance on small children is nearly as great as that for grown persons, and our greatest expense and trouble lies in our waiters.
Trusting you will view the matter in the same light as ourselves, and that the request will be received without offense,
I remain,

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock Manager
