Tower of Legends, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California
Photographic paper: Dops
The Tower of Legends was built in 1924 to disguise a water tower, and torn down April 2, 1948. This Real Photo Post Card was created by a process in which any photographer could take a "snapshot," deliver the negative to a photo developer and have it printed on a postcard backing. The special papers used for this process are indexed by brand and date, and the Dops papers used for this photograph were issued from 1925-1942, according to the letters bordering the stampbox on the back. The name "Stockton" was scratched onto the image during the developing process. No publisher is given (unless it was Stockton), but the number 547 is written in front of the title.
