Pat Brillo's Original Mexican Restaurants

It is unclear from the statement on the reverse of this picture postcard whether the dining room depicted on the image side is at the El Cajon, the San Diego, or the University of Fairmount branch of the restaurant. There were eventually five restaurants in the chain, which was bought by a worker in the downtown San Diego branch, Julio Arreola (who died in 2007) and friend Sabino Uribe. After closing most of the restaurants, they continued to operate the one at 4334 University Avenue in San Diego until 1971, when Arreola opened Julio's at University and 45th, which he operated with his brother Olimpio for 35 years.
