Hunter, John C.
Addressing John Adams, Hunter refers to Adams's answer to a previous letter to Jane Adams mentioning his demotion to private. Hunter does not see it as a "misfortune," since his company still calls him "sergeant" and relieves him of thinking he got a raw deal by believing it themselves. His company is "living in a former Luftwaffe camp" near a lake. A "six piece band made up of German PWs [Prisoners of War]" played for them.
