San Diego State University was one of three universities on the West Coast to be designated a Bicentennial campus by the US Government, and from several similar photographs in the context of Centennial signs, this would appear to be a kiosk prepared for that year-long celebration. The kiosk is shown in an unfinished location, with the television screen installed on the left. Other photographs of this unit include NEG-00-283 through NEG-00-294, and NEG-00-296 through NEG-00-299. A photograph on the top right of the kiosk is of then University President Brage Golding (1972-1977).
