San Diego State University was one of three universities on the West Coast to be designated a Bicentennial campus by the US Government, and from several similar photographs in the context of Centennial signs, this would appear to be a kiosk prepared for that year-long celebration. An unidentified student sits next to the television screen installed in the kiosk. Other photographs of this unit include NEG-00-283 through NEG-00-288 and NEG-00-290 through NEG-00-299. A photograph at the top of the right side is of then University President Brage Golding (1972-1977).
