The lyrics of this tune were written by Ballard MacDonald, the music by S. R. Henry, for voice and piano. A photograph of "Miss Hetty King" in men's clothing appears to represent her against a backdrop of a vaudeville stage. "Hetty King" was the stage name of Winifred Emms, a British performer known as a male impersonator in the Music Hall. Only the front cover illustration is shown here, but the sheet music is held by San Diego State University as well.
