Artist: Walton, E. E.
The music inside this illustrated cover is by Albert von Tilzer, and the words by Lew Brown. A large red heart separates two lovers, the man in the uniform of the United States infantry in World War I, the woman in a white dress and large hat decorated with a red flower. With the entry of the United States into World War I, thousands of men responded to the call to duty, leaving loved ones behind. This song was recorded under the Victor label, and this sheet music was reprinted three times. Although this image is only of the cover illustration, San Diego State University Special Collections and Archives does hold the sheet music inside.
