Artist: Barbelle, Al
The sheet music inside this illustrated cover is by Billy Gould. The illustration is of United States President Woodrow Wilson, who entered his country into World War I in 1917. Flanking the colored photograph of Wilson are a "doughboy," or uniformed member of the United States World War I infantry (at left); and a sailor, a uniformed member of the United States Navy. The sinking of the United States ship Lusitania by a German submarine was the immediate reason for the entry of the United States into the war. The signature of illustrator Al Barbelle may be seen just to the right of the shield at bottom. The lyrics include, "Dear Old Glory is in danger," to be helped by "Yankee Doodle Dandies."
