Bell, Harlow
Writing on Naval Operating Base memo paper Bell reports he will ship out on United States Ship Houston in a week. He left San Diego State College a few months ago, but it feels much longer. His wife Audrey (born Mair), who teaches in San Diego, will be visiting, as will Dick Mitchell. He gives his new address and asks to be remembered to Dean Charles E. Peterson and Kenneth Barnhart.

Dear Doctor Post;
Am writing this in regard to a change in my address. I am stationed with a group of some five hundred seaman c/c, temporarily, while our ship is being fitted out. I am assigned to the USS Houston which is going into commission in about a week.

During the time I was in recognition school I received the copies of the news letter. It seems such a long since I left S.D. State but in reality it has only been a few months. I certainly miss that good old California sunshine.

I didn't have the pleasure of taking a class from you but you probably remember my wife the former Audrey Mair. She teaches in S.D. and is coming back here Dec. 15. for a short visit.

Received a letter from Dick Mitchell this week, he us planning on coming down for a short visit too.

Give my regards to Dean C.E. Peterson, also Dr. Barnhart tell him the stripes in the flag are "red" I think he will know what I mean.

My address will be after Dec.20th:
USS Houston
Norfolk Navy Yard
Portsmouth, Va.

Sincerely,
Harlow C. Bell
