Doll, Fred Ross
Doll is at Parris Island Marine boot camp and lists men there from San Diego State College: Paul Dehnel, Bob Homesley, Bob Shepherd, Chuck English, and Louie Paluzzi. He saw Jack Jackson. Asking for a suggestion to the women at College that they send him letters, he calls himself a "gyrene," a combination of "GI" (government issue) and "Marine." Although it is not winter yet, Doll's "feet haven't thawed out for the last week."
