Chandler has just endured a "long ocean voyage" to an unspecified place, "somewhere with the Marines." He spent "lots of time" with Charles Ables on the voyage, neither one seasick. "Amusement is the hardest thing to find," he says of their location. He has his phonograph, played every evening, and "the inevitable poker game." Victory Mail was microfilmed for shipment, developed for delivery.
